Text Did Not Appear on Android
Where your words went when they did not land in the app, and how to get them back from the clipboard or History.
When your words do not appear in the app, EnviousWispr tells you where they went in a short message. Usually you can get them back from the clipboard or from History.
Read the message
| Message | Where your words are | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Copied. Press and hold, then tap Paste. | On the clipboard | Press and hold in the text box, then tap Paste |
| Copied too, if it did not arrive. | On the clipboard, and probably already in the text box | Check the box before you paste |
| Saved in History. Open EnviousWispr to copy. | In History | Open the app and copy them |
| Kept on this phone. Open EnviousWispr to find them. | On your phone | Open the app and look in History |
| Your words could not be saved. Please dictate again. | Not saved | Dictate again |
If the message ends with Auto-paste is off; turn it back on in Accessibility settings, EnviousWispr could not paste for you. See Accessibility Access on Android.
Get your words from History
Open EnviousWispr and go to the History tab. Find your dictation and tap Copy. You see Copied, and you can paste the words anywhere.
Why it happens
Accessibility access is off. Without it, EnviousWispr cannot paste into other apps. The message tells you whether your words are on the clipboard or in History.
It was a password or PIN field. EnviousWispr never types into password or PIN fields. The message tells you where your words went.
You used the Quick Settings tile. The tile is not tied to a text box, so your words go to the clipboard, or to History if Auto-copy to clipboard is off.
Keep the clipboard as you had it
In Settings, under Clipboard, Auto-copy to clipboard keeps finished text ready to paste when direct insertion is not possible, and Restore clipboard after paste puts back what you had copied before. Both are on unless you turned them off.
