The workflow that whisper.cpp does not have

Dictation is more than transcription. The details that make it usable as a daily driver are the ones whisper.cpp was never designed to provide.

While the mic is warm, a pre-roll buffer reduces first-word clipping; a cold start can still lose the first word or two, and a warm engine means no other cold-start delay. Target app reactivation brings focus back to where you were typing. Delivery tries direct insertion first, then an ordinary paste, then the app's own Edit > Paste menu; if all three fail, your text stays on the clipboard so you can paste it yourself. Clipboard restoration, on by default, means your copied content survives a paste-based delivery.
