Dictation on Android, from the keyboard or beside it.
If you use Gboard, its microphone gives you dictation from the keyboard. EnviousWispr adds on-device AI polish, your tone and format, and a dictionary of your own words, on any supported phone.

Finished writing, on any supported phone.
S1-mini cleans up and formats what you said on the phone itself, offline, on Samsung, Pixel and other supported phones. Or use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key. See AI polish on Android.
With S1-mini, pick casual to formal, turn spoken lists into bullet points, and lay out a greeting and sign-off you dictate as an email. A new pick applies from your next dictation.
Add names and terms with the ways they get misheard, and find your completed dictations again in History. See Dictionary and History.
Where your voice goes.
Speech recognition runs on your phone and audio is never uploaded. Local AI polish keeps the text on the phone too.
If you choose cloud polish, the selected text and your custom words go directly to your provider under your own key. They do not pass through Envious Labs. Privacy on Android
For advanced voice typing on Pixel 6 and later, Google says the text you speak stays on your device except with Fix it or detailed edits; detailed edits send the command transcript and the field text, without audio.
For Rambler on the Pixel 11 series, Google says your text, audio input and corrections are temporarily processed by Google and deleted after your text is delivered; offline, Rambler keeps basic cleanup, punctuation and capitalization. Google's help pages do not describe processing for standard voice typing on other phones.
When Gboard is the better fit.
Gboard voice typing is part of the keyboard, with no separate app. EnviousWispr needs about 1.2 GB of model downloads, a phone with 6 GB of memory and Accessibility access.
Advanced voice typing on Pixel 6 and later supports commands such as "delete" and "clear", and detailed edits on Pixel 8 and later (English US) insert, delete and replace words by voice. EnviousWispr does not edit text by voice.
Pixel 9 and later (not 9a) proofread and rewrite on the device. On the Pixel 11 series, Rambler uses Gemini to remove filler words and rewrite on request, processing your speech with Google while online.
